“Why are you crying?” was all I was able to ask, grasping for air. Gaia was crying, sobbing, weeping. Tears came rolling down her cheeks and they would not want to stop. The water was up to my throat now. I fainted.

I woke up and felt ill. I was freezing. There was no more water, but wind. A cold and rough wind. It made me incapable to breathe. I felt weak, could not express a word at all and my mind tried to reach Gaia, asking silently: “Why are you raging?” Then I fainted again.

When I woke up, the cold wind had left. Instead, I found myself in the middle of a fire. Heat caught the deepest layers of my skin. The pain struck me. Thinking was impossible now. “Why are you committing suicide?” I heard someone ask in the distance. I fainted.

“You have been dreaming!” she said, when I arrived back in my body. “Easy. Relax. Everything is fine. It was only a dream.” I sat upright in my bed. “No,” I replied. “This was no dream.” Gaia smiled. She looked as weak as I felt. We are one, came to my mind. I closed my eyes as she closed hers. We stayed like this for a while.
