This Letter is as well to watch on YouTube!

It was yet another day in therapy. “Own your story, be your own creator,” was what my therapist would repeatedly say. These had been her last words in the past session a week ago. I did not understand by then, still I had nodded. Today, she spoke in miracles again.

I needed to confess, that I did not understand what she meant. Instead, I answered with “Yes, I do, but …” And with my “Yes, but …” I started complaining about my life again. I talked about my sufferings and I dwelled in the idea, that the others around me would make my life miserable. “You are not embodying your story. You are not allowing life to be part of you or yourself being part of life. You are still not owning your story.” I heard her say.

I got mad at her, for I still had no clue. “How do I?” was all I could express, while anger arose in me. “You are my therapist and supposed to help me. What do you mean by embodying, by allowing life to be part or by owning?” She smiled and said, “Too much help makes helpless. I am not supposed to help you. If you have come for help, you may leave now. I am not taking your story as mine, it is yours.” Then she paused.
