Humming for Gaia
About the Hummingbird.
Dear human friend,
right after we had started the “humming for Gaia” movement, many letters arrived from all over the world. I placed them on my desk in order to read them the moment, in which I would find time to encounter them in complete awareness and gratitude. Today, I took them outside with me on a hike into the mountains. It was not any hike. I went all the way up to a special and magic place, a place which means the world to me. This place holds many of my stories and if you asked me, with whom I would share my most precious moments, it would be this place. On top of the hill I sat and consecrated. Then I opened the letters. One by one.
The first letter read: “Dear Princess Gaia, my name is Michael and I am preacher in a Christian community. I like the word “humming” and it lets me think of a hummingbird. Did you know that hummingbirds stand for love, beauty, and intelligence? Wow, dear Princess, this fits so well into the dream that Gaia had in your story, and I would translate the three into the intelligence of humankind to encounter the beauty of life with pure love. We Christians even like to call the hummingbird “God’s tiny miracle”. Yes, hummingbirds are outstanding beautiful animals, the smallest of their kind with the ability to go into the contemplative mode of hibernation basically “on the fly”. Looking…
