I did not mean to upset you
Open letter to my friend(s).
My dearest friend,
You might already know by the title that this letter is for you.
You are upset. And I apologize. I did not know that the things I said and did would have this impact considering the way you reacted. You are sad. You are in pain. You are angry and you are grieving. You lost trust in your own beliefs. In those that you have been brought up with and in those that you have manifested along your path through life. You want to hold on to what you think is “right”, what is supposed to be “good”.
Even though I did not use these kinds of judging words you heard them in my sentences and actions. Even though I never spoke of blame or shame, you felt accused by my words. Even though I did not intent to run you down, you took it as attack and found yourself powerless after coming back from hiding.
Now you realize that you had your eyes wide shut while looking upon life. Now you find yourself stuck in your life, imprisoned. And still, you rather want to go further on into the dark depth of your self-made prison and find a new way to lock yourself up instead of daring to take a glimpse at the world outside. Facing beauty, freedom and insecurity.
