The secret of Bliss.
I am so happy.

“I am so happy!” This I heard my son scream in joy when we spent the day by the Ocean. “I am so sad.” This is what he sobbed five hours later when we left again. “I am so happy!” This was my husband when his favorite soccer team scored the winning goal. “I am so disappointed!” This is what he grumbled a few months later when the soccer season had ended without the expected successful outcome. “I am so happy!” This was the joyful first sentence after my friend was just married to her beloved husband. “I am so miserable.” This is what she complained to me through the telephone last night.
When our mind-set of being who we are is made of the feeling of what is missing in our lives, then happiness is not made to last. It comes and then it leaves us again. We are only happy as long as we are in — or as long as we can recall — the happy moment. Therefore, happiness creates the sensation of unhappiness as soon as it turns away from us.
This was the case, right after my son, my husband and my friend had used the words “I am so happy!”.
